“American Pickers” Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are coming to Kentucky and may come to Grayson County, and they need your help.
For those not familiar with the popular History Channel reality show, Wolfe and Fritz travel the country “picking,” or buying a laundry list of items.
The reality show opens with this dialogue, which succinctly summarizes what they are looking for:
“I'm Mike Wolfe. And I'm Frank Fritz. And we're pickers. We travel the back roads of America looking to buy rusty gold. We're looking for amazing things buried in people's garages and barns. What most people see as junk, we see as dollar signs. We'll buy ‘anything’ we think we can make a buck on. Each item we pick has a history all its own and the people we meet? Well, they're a breed all their own … We make a living telling the history of America... one piece at a time.”
The American Pickers will be in Kentucky in March, and are looking for interesting characters and interesting items. The duos favorite “picks” features “multiple buildings crammed with piles of cool stuff,” writes Sarah Moore, a representative of the show.
Some of the items Wolfe and Fritz are looking for include, but are by no means limited to:
Movie and sports memorabilia
Basically, any other oddball, one-of-a-kind, or interesting historical item you can think of.
