GC Schools Superintendent Doug Robinson receives glowing evaluation from School

Grayson County Schools Superintendent Doug Robinson recently received his yearly evaluation from the Grayson County School Board.

Robinson was graded in seven areas, including strategic and instructional leadership, cultural and human resources leadership, as well as managerial, collaborative and influential leadership.

Robinson, in his second year as superintendent, was graded as exemplary in six of the seven categories, the highest rating possible. His human resources leadership ability was graded by board members as accomplished, the second highest rating.

The following are the categories Robinson was judged on, and comments on his performance from board members:

Strategic leadership – Exemplary — Maintains excellent communication with board members, central office, principals and community; developed rapport with new leadership at ECTC; continues to mentor new principals and new GCAVEC director; conducted test data meetings and school improvement plans.

Industrial leadership – Exemplary — Distinguished schools in district; technology grant and additional staff (Technology Integration Specialist); implemented Footsteps to Brilliance program; initiated data meetings which were more focused and intentional in analyzing data.

Cultural leadership – Exemplary — Open door policy; always striving for new methods/events to motivate staff; earned respect of district employees; understands cultural norms of each school; works on behalf of certified and classified personnel to achieve common goals; deployed app to celebrate district successes and provide the general public with information.

Human resources leadership – Accomplished – Tell survey for district showed positive results for work environment; created leadership academy with district employees; attended data team meetings; attended Superintendent’s Academy; networks effectively with other superintendents to continually glean new ideas from for district; continues to effectively manage personnel; evaluates principals with evidence-based criteria; promotes excellence in district.

Managerial leadership – Exemplary – Continues to manage funding effectively to meet district needs within budget; updated district facilities plan; upgraded MUNIS program for efficient financial management.

Collaborative leadership – Exemplary – Serves on community committees and boards; hosts annual community event in coordination with Chamber of Commerce to share progress and goals; collaborates with local industry to ensure students have career options other than college.

Influential leadership – Exemplary – Has a grasp on new legislation to prepare strategic initiatives; has a quality relationship with legislative members to share needs/successes; attends professional meetings; reviewed policies with KSBA and board attorney.
