Sunday evening at about 7:00, the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unresponsive woman lying in a rural road near Williamsburg.

When the police arrived, a trail of blood was found in the road leading to a nearby home. After entering the residence, police found 36-year-old Michelle Marlow, of Williamsburg, dead inside a bedroom.

Police then discovered 38-year-old Chris Lowe and 37-year-old Lori Mattie, both of Williamsburg, in different parts of the home. Both were covered in a large amount of blood, according to multiple media reports.

During the investigation, a witness told police he saw a man and woman strike Marlowe in the head with a stick, with a second witness saying he saw the man drag an unresponsive woman inside the home.

Police arrested Lowe and charged him with murder and tampering with physical evidence. Marlowe was arrested and charged with murder, criminal mischief and assault.

Both are being held in the Whitley County Detention Center on $500,000 cash bonds.
