Local Business Owner-Community Leader to Seek Grayson County 3rd District Magistrate Seat.

Kevin Brooks has announced he will seek the Republican Party nomination for Grayson County 3rd District Magistrate in the May 2018 Primary Election.

Brooks has owned and/or operated Future Designs Building Materials in Leitchfield since 1994 where he has grown the company and sister divisions Southern KY Insulation, Plumbing & Electrical Wholesaling and FD Metal & Siding.

The son of Ray and Charlotte Brooks, he and his wife Melissa live in the Sunbeam Road area and have raised three children, Brittany, Brandon and Kaylee. They enjoy one grandson, Reagan.

In addition to operating his own business, he has served Grayson County as Chairman of the Grayson County Chamber of Commerce, Grayson County Tourism, Tri-County CASA Board and Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center Board of Directors. He presently serves on the Kentucky Building Materials Board of Directors and as Chairman in 2002. Brooks also remains passionate in his service on the Board of Directors of the Appalachian Children’s Home.

Outside of his civic service, Brooks also holds nine U.S. Design and Utility Patents relative to Decoy Stakes Solutions, LLC and Ground Auger Technologies which license and distribute products in the United States and Canada.

“I’m community oriented, have proven leadership skills, am driven by economic growth for Grayson County and I remain family focused,” Brooks said. “Grayson County has been great to my family and my only motivation for serving on the Grayson County Fiscal Court is to serve and lead the county in a positive direction creating opportunity for future generations.”

Brooks has pledged that any monthly stipend earned as a magistrate will be donated to charity and he will not accept any health or retirement benefits typically accepted by members of Grayson County Fiscal Court.

A letter of intention to run was filed with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance on August 8, 2017.
