2 Morgantown men arrested on drug trafficking charges in Beaver Dam

A joint investigation by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police led to the arrest of two Morgantown men Monday night at 6:30.

According to police, authorities obtained information about a drug deal involving methamphetamine that was to take place in the 700 block of South Main Street, in Beaver Dam.

Police set up surveillance in the area, and Monday night officers observed the drug deal take place, with authorities quickly surrounding the vehicles involved in the transaction. The two suspects, 34-year-old Willard Turner and 47-year-old Derek White, were taken into custody without incident.

Both were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), with White also charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Both men are being held in the Ohio County Detention Center on $5,000 cash bonds.
