On Tuesday night at approximately 9:57, Kentucky State Police conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Hwy 231 in Hartford.
Police said that through an investigation, authorities discovered the driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Robert C. Coates III, of Owensboro, was intoxicated and in possession of a stolen firearm, marijuana and an unspecified controlled substance.
Coates was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, DUI, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding 21 mph over limit.
He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
