Sunday night at approximately 8:00, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to 5423 Plano Road on the report of a single-car accident.

Police said the initial investigation showed that a Mitsubishi passenger car, being driven by 24-year-old Reginald Sprowl, of Greenwood, South Carolina, was traveling on Plano Road when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole and flipped onto its top.

The Warren County Coroner’s Office pronounced the Mitsubishi’s passenger, 24-year-old Jessica Whiledge, of Alvaton, dead at the scene.

Sprowl was airlifted to a Tennessee hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police said drugs, alcohol, speed, and weather conditions were factors in the fatal crash.
