Greenville man killed while performing work on combine

Kentucky State Police is investigating the accidental death of a Greenville man.

On Monday evening at approximately 5:00, 47-year-old James Blakely was performing maintenance on a combine when he became entangled inside of the engine compartment, according to state police. The engine then caught fire, trapping Blakely inside.

The accident occurred in the 3300 block of West Depot Street (Hwy 601) in Greenville.

The investigation into Blakely’s death continues.
