Ohio Co. authorities receive tip, bust Owensboro man on multiple drug trafficking charges

On Tuesday evening at approximately 5:00, a drug investigation by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of an Owensboro man.

According to Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty, OCSO detectives obtained information in reference to a drug deal that was to take place in the 1700 block of North Main Street, in Beaver Dam.

According to the information received by police, the deal was to involve the sale of methamphetamine.

Law enforcement with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Beaver Dam and Hartford Police Departments conducted surveillance of the area, and at about 4:50, officers observed the drug transaction transpire. Police quickly surrounded the vehicles involved, and took a suspect, 22-year-old Demonta Wilson, of Owensboro, into custody without incident.

Wilson was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school (meth), trafficking in a controlled substance (meth) and possession of marijuana.

He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center where he’s being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
