The Hudson woman gravely injured in a car accident at approximately 6:00 Monday night on Brandenburg Road has died.

Officials said 58-year-old Deborah Baker died Thursday morning at University of Louisville Hospital from injuries suffered in the car versus tractor accident.

Baker was traveling north when she rear-ended a tractor with a 10-foot long wood splitter attached to its back. The splitter struck Baker as it punctured the windshield and peeled back the top of Ford Taurus she was driving.

The tractor’s driver, 74-year-old Jimmie Smith, of Leitchfield, suffered a neck injury in the accident.

The tractor had four working yellow lights, two on the roof and two on the wheel wells, but there were no brake marks at the scene. The Taurus and tractor traveled 75 feet after the initial impact.
