The Grayson County Girl Scouts Cookie Crunch and Dessert Auction event, held Thursday night at The Rock, was an overwhelming success.
According to Girl Scout leader DeAnna Lasley, the Dessert Auction raised a record $840 to help send Girl Scouts to camp.
Several local political candidates and citizens, including Wilkey Elementary fourth grader Daniel Ratley, participated in the Cookie Crunch, a race to determine who could eat the most cookies in two minutes.
The overall winner of the contest was Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Jeremy Logsdon, with Grayson County Clerk Sherry Weedman beating the women competitors.
Girl Scouts also participated in a contest where they “bobbed” for Teddy Grahams in a whipped cream pie.
