Kentucky State Police say a Muhlenberg County Constable has been arrested after helping an inmate escape custody.

Authorities said Constable Willie Parker was arrested Friday on charges of bribery of a public servant and complicity to escape. Police said in June, Muhlenberg County Detention Center  inmate Anthony White escaped while being transported by Parker from the Muhlenberg County Court House to the jail.

White is a convicted felon facing over dozen charges, including trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin), theft by unlawful taking, being a persistent felony offender, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.

He has been lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center since May 2017, with the exception of his brief escape, and has cases pending in Jefferson, Nelson and Ohio Counties.

He’s being held on four bonds totaling $106,000.

Police said Parker agreed to accept a bribe from White’s girlfriend, Kelly Dooley, to aid in White’s escape.

Parker is being held in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center, Dooley is not currently listed as an inmate at the facility.
