On Sunday night at approximately 7:20, the Cave City Police Department responded to 103 Rylan Way in response to a domestic violence assault.

Upon arriving at the scene, police made contact with 49-year-old Robert Martin, who authorities said was extremely intoxicated and armed with a butcher knife. Confronting Martin, police instructed him to drop the knife, which he did, before running from police on foot.

He was quickly captured and placed under arrest and charged with five counts of terroristic threatening, domestic violence assault and fleeing or evading police.

He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center where he’s being held on a $2,500 bond.

The woman Martin assaulted suffered only minor injuries.
