An Edmonson County High School student was killed Sunday night in a single-vehicle accident on Morgantown Road.
Sunday night at approximately 8:00, 16 year-old Christian Goodroe, of Smiths Grove, was traveling east in the 7000 block of Morgantown Road in Edmonson County when his 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck left the roadway, according to multiple media reports. After leaving the road, the truck rolled at least once and struck a tree.
Goodroe was pronounced dead at the scene by the Edmonson County Coroner’s Office.
According to the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, ECSO Detective Wally Ritter is leading the investigation into the crash.
Goodroe would have turned 17 on Christmas Day.
