Lindon C. Kessinger, age 80, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 13, 2018) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

He was born on October 21, 1937 in Butler County, KY, the son of the late Odie and Sylvia Lacefield Kessinger.

He was a building contractor and a loving husband and father, who enjoyed running marathons, skiing and riding his bicycle. He was a pioneer and a ministerial assistant with the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Norma Dockery Kessinger of Leitchfield; a son, Scott Kessinger (Tonya) of Falls of Rough; three daughters, Debbie Davenport (Danny) of Florida, Michelle Childress (Pat) of Leitchfield, and Kristi Pence (Adam) of Short Creek; seven grandchildren, Garrett, Bridget, Brittany and Zach Davenport, Samuel “Sam” Lindon Kessinger, Maleya and Alexa Pence; two great grandchildren, AJ and Angler Gilleon; and three sisters, Arvonne Martin of Louisville, KY, Wandeana Raymer (Carlos) of Morgantown, KY and Sharon Kent (Sam) of Scottsville, KY.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Childress; a sister, Ruby Embry; and four brothers, Denzell Kessinger (infant), Mendell, Gwendon and Wendell Kessinger.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, (January 18, 2018) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Joe Hurst will be officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery in Butler County.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
