The Millwood man arrested on December 3, 2017 by Grayson County Deputy Sheriff Rance Whobrey and Kentucky State Police, including former GCSO deputy Joey Beasley, has been indicted by the Grayson County Grand Jury on five counts of sexual abuse and sodomy involving a victim under the age of one-year-old.

James D. Armes, 36, was indicted by the grand jury on three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of first-degree sodomy for abusing a 10-month-old baby. He was also indicted for resisting arrest, menacing and being a persistent felony offender.

According to the indictment, the abuse took place “about or between April 6, 2017 and December 2, 2017.”

During Armes’ December 11 preliminary hearing, Deputy Whobrey testified to the images of child sexual abuse he observed on Armes’ cell phone upon his arrest. Details of the crime are appalling and beyond description, and will not be published by K105.

After discovering immensely disturbing images of child sexual abuse on Armes’ cell phone, some of his family members alerted the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office where the suspect was located.

He is being held in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond. Armes faces more than 70 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
