Tuesday night at approximately 11:45, the Leitchfield, Caneyville and Falls of Rough Fire Departments responded to a massive fire at High Country Lumber in Millwood.

As the fire departments sped to the scene at 2579 Kefauver Road, several explosions in the building were felt in Leitchfield, about five miles from the site of the blaze.

Upon arriving, firefighters found the large structure fully engulfed in flames. With over 15 fire department vehicles on scene, and countless personnel, firefighters battled the blaze from all sides for well over an hour.

The building though, was a total loss.

Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall said the fire possibly originated with a welder or cutting torch.

There were no injuries reported and all firefighters cleared the scene by 2:30.

High Country Lumber has been in business in Grayson County since 1996, according to online records.
