Charles Ronnie “Banjo Man” Mattingly, age 61 of Big Clifty passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville.  He was born June 25, 1956 in Louisville the son of the late C.L and Opal King Mattingly Neff.

​Charles had many interests such as horseshoes, cornhole, woodworking and fishing.  He loved his music.  He could play almost anything and he was self-taught to play by ear.

​He is survived by his wife, Carolyn “Susie” Wilkerson Mattingly, one daughter, Angel Christine Smith, two sisters, Gloria Blair and Sherry Hash, five brothers, Danny, Harold, Steve, Tommy and Ralph Mattingly, four grandchildren, Ashley Love (Josh), Talana Smith, Terra and Skylar Logsdon, great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Alyssa DeArmond, his step-father, Henry Neff, and three step-brothers, Chris, Billy, and Joey Neff.

​He was preceded in death by his father, C.L. Mattingly, his mother, Opal King Mattingly Neff, and a sister, Linda Katherine Clemons Haydon.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. CST, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. Sean Mitchell.  Burial will be in the Meeting Creek Church Cemetery in Eastview. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. CST until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
