Woman arrested after shooting her husband

On Saturday afternoon, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman after she shot her husband.

Police arrested 54-year-old Linda Belew, of Corbin, and charged her with assault after she shot her husband in the hip. After the shooting, Belew went to a neighbor’s home to ask for help, according to media reports. Police did not release information on what led to the shooting.

The victim was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with a serious injury, but authorities expect him to survive.

Belew was transported in the Laurel County Correctional Center where she’s been charged with first-degree assault. She’s being held on a $75,000 bond.
