A grandfather and his five-year-old grandson have died the result of a house fire.
The early Saturday morning fire at a home in the 3600 block of Buttermilk Road (Hwy 2551), in Bremen, killed 89-year-old Mitchell Key and five-year-old Levi Case.
Key was pronounced dead at the scene, while Case passed away Sunday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, according to multiple media reports.
A neighbor, Benjamin Harrison, reported the fire and entered the burning structure, pulling Case from the home. Harrison suffered non-life threatening injuries rescuing Case.
