The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a bank robbery suspect.

At approximately 12:20 Wednesday afternoon, police responded to U.S. Bank in Mortons Gap on the report of a bank robbery. When police arrived on the scene, bank officials said what appeared to be a black male walked into the bank dressed in black shoes, black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt with his face covered, according to multiple media reports. The suspect was also wearing large sunglasses.

The man brandished a weapon and demanded money, and after bank employees complied, the suspect fled on foot. Police believe he may have entered a gray or blue Chevrolet Silverado truck with a getaway driver inside.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office at 270-821-5661, or Kentucky State Police.
