Two inmates from the Hardin County Detention Center suffered what officials believe were drug overdoses.

Authorities were informed at around 1:15 Monday afternoon by an inmate that another inmate was unresponsive. Officials notified EMS and shortly after medical help arrived, jail staff was told there was a second unresponsive inmate, according to the News Enterprise.

Narcan was used on both inmates and they were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital. The two inmates were back at the jail by approximately 6:00 Monday night.

Hardin County Jailer Danny Allen told the News Enterprise that he is investigating the incident and reviewing camera footage, saying the culprit will likely be charged with promoting contraband.
