Police are searching for a Frankfort woman who went missing in Garrard County.
The search is centered in Tom Dorman State Nature Preserve, near Palisades Point. The one-time rescue mission is now being called a recovery mission by authorities, after not being able to find 40-year-old Jessica Burk.
She was last seen Wednesday night approximately 7:00 as she hiked with her boyfriend. After Burk went missing, her boyfriend waited a few hours before notifying authorities. He is now considered a person of interest in the case, according to WKYT.com.
Police have taken custody of his car as part of the investigation, and have said there were inconsistencies in statements he provided investigators.
Burk was last seen wearing a fuzzy, long, white jacket and black jogging pants with a red stripe.
She is 5-feet-4 tall, with dark hair and brown eyes.
