The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office has seized a large amount of marijuana at the Caneyville Post Office.

The sheriff’s office said that on Thursday, February 15, GCSO Detective Corey Knochel, who is the GCSO’s representative on the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task, was notified by Grayson County Central Dispatch of a suspicious postal box at the Caneyville Post Office.

Chief Deputy Jarrod Mudd, Caneyville Police Chief Anthony Clark and a U.S. Postal Inspector arrived to assist Det. Knochel with the investigation. The Postal Inspector obtained a federal search warrant and it was discovered that the package contained approximately 12 pounds of high grade marijuana, with a street value of approximately $48,000, according to police.

Sheriff Norman Chaffins said the package was addressed to a residence in Caneyville, but to a location just inside Butler County. A possible suspect has been identified, according to Sheriff Chaffins.

Chaffins chidingly added, “If you are the addressee and would like to claim your marijuana, you may pick up the package at the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office during normal business hours, or call the office at 270-259-3024 and ask for any of the deputies to assist you.”
