4 Pike Co. residents charged with helping hide accused cop killer John Russell Hall

Four suspects have been charged with hindering prosecution in connection with the murder of Pikeville police officer Scotty Hamilton.

Kentucky State Police say 39 year-old-Michael Slone, of Banner, 54-year-old Greg Slone, of Betsy Layne, 37-year-old Amanda Dotson, of Pikeville, and 44-year-old Jeanne Blackburn, of Harold, have been arrested and charged with hindering prosecution for aiding 55-year-old John Russell Hall as he hid from police after shooting Hamilton.

According to police, Dotson and Blackburn helped transport and hide Hall from authorities following the Hamilton shooting, as Hall contacted Dotson and Michael Slone to ask for transportation from the area. The two picked-up and drove Hall to Greg Slone’s house, according to authorities.

Police said all four suspects were all at Greg Slone’s residence when Hall was captured on Friday. All four suspects were aware Hall was wanted by police.

The four were lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
