On Wednesday, the Cave City Police Department responded to Owens Chapel Baptist Church in reference to a stolen church van.

Police said a report was taken and the van was entered as stolen into a national crime database. About four hours later, Cave City police observed the van being driven on Mammoth Cave Street.

Police executed a traffic stop, and the driver, 31-year-old Randy Claxton, of Glasgow, jumped out of the van and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Claxton was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property and fleeing or evading police.

Claxton was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
