Spring Skin Care Tips:

The time for fun in the sun is swiftly approaching, which also means it is time to start thinking about safe sun exposure and skin care. Get ready for those warm outings by starting a Spring Skin Care Regimen, perfect for all ages!

  • Clean out your cosmetic bag– rid your collection of old brushes and dried up makeup that clog pores and spread germs.
  • Exfoliate a few times a week- clean up and open your pores so they can receive that fresh spring air.
  • Don’t let allergy season take over- stay on top of your allergies to prevent baggy eyes and raw noses, which cause skin issues.
  • Use sunscreen- even though it isn’t the sunniest time of year, harmful UV rays can still be lurking. Apply sunscreen- and not just once!
  • Wear a hat- go hat shopping and find something stylish and beneficial to keep your face protected during especially warm days.

Spring Fresh Strawberry Cobbler Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of white sugar
  • 1 tbsp of corn starch
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 cups of sliced fresh strawberries
  • 2 tbsp of margarine
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of packed dark brown sugar
  • 1.5 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 3 tbsp of butter
  • 3/4 cup of half-and-half cream
  • 1/4 cup of margarine

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) Grease a 2 quart baking dish with margarine.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, water, and strawberries. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and hot. Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish. Dot with 2 tablespoons margarine.
  3. In a bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Blend in the 3 tablespoons butter. Stir in cream. Mixture should be soft. When you spoon dough onto the berries, it will probably sink to the bottom. Just try to spread as well as you can. Don’t worry, it comes out good.
  4. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven. When the cobbler is almost done, mix the 1/4 cup margarine and 1/4 cup brown sugar, and heat them in a saucepan or in the microwave (whichever is easier for you). When the topping is heated, brush it on the top of the cobbler and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes.
