The Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office has released the preliminary autopsy results for the Caneyville man found deceased on West Maple Street in Caneyville early Sunday morning.

Deputy Grayson County Coroner Larry Holeman said the medical examiner ruled the death of 45-year-old Clinton Brown a suicide. Holeman said a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head was the cause of death.

Officials are still waiting toxicology and other testing results.

Brown was found in the 300 block of West Maple Street between 5:30 and 6:00 Sunday morning. A firearm was found near the body. Brown’s vehicle was also discovered off the roadway and down a seven to eight foot embankment.

Deputy Taylor Logsdon and the Caneyville Fire Department responded to the scene.
