Last weekend on the campus of Western Kentucky University, the Grayson County High School Winter Guard team won the Kentucky State Championship and overall gold medal in their class at the 2018 SCGC Championships, in only the teams third year of existence.
Guards from Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama competed, as well as a handful of guards from other states.

Winter Guard is an indoor color guard sport derived from military ceremonies or veteran’s organization’s ceremonies. Unlike traditional color guard, Winter Guard is performed indoors. Performances make use of recorded music rather than a live band or orchestra.
