Thursday night at 8:15, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police responded to the 1000 block of Ambassador Shores Drive on an investigation.

Spurring the investigation by Deputies Dylan Bohn and DJ Newton, and Trooper Brandon Brooks, was an apparent explosion that residents in the area heard earlier Thursday.

Upon arriving at the home, deputies were given consent to search the property, and while completing that search a male suspect drove onto the scene. Seeing the police presence, the suspect fled in his vehicle about 100 yards down Ambassador Shores Drive. He then fled on foot.

Deputies gave chase, as the suspect ran into a densely wooded area with uneven terrain and high bluffs. Police continued to search for the suspect for over an hour, but with no success.

A search of the property revealed unidentified “evidence in plain view,” according to Deputy Newton. Police then obtained a search warrant for the residence, detained (and presumably questioned) the homeowner and conducted a search. Found were pipes, pills, methamphetamine residue, and drug paraphernalia.

No arrests were made, but charges are pending an indictment by the Grayson County Grand Jury.

The case remains under investigation, and police have a possible name for the suspect who fled. Deputies declined further comment as to not compromise the ongoing investigation.
