A Laurel County woman has been arrested after allegedly abusing a toddler.
On Wednesday, the London Police Department was dispatched to a residence after Child Protective Services determined a 27-month-old child had multiple bruises and cuts as a result of abuse. The child was transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center where doctors said the child was also “extremely malnourished,” according to media reports.
Police arrested the child’s aunt, 30-year-old Sarah A. Sizemore, and charged her with first-degree criminal abuse and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Sizemore was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
