Driving with one headlight leads to drug, guns charges for convicted felon

Thursday night at approximately 9:00, Kentucky State Police conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 60 near Owensboro on a vehicle with one working headlight.

As police made contact with the driver, 36-year-old Billy Brown, of Reed, authorities suspected Brown to be under the influence of alcohol and asked him to exit the vehicle.

While conducting field sobriety tests, police located methamphetamine and a weapon on Reed.

He was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance (meth), being a felony offender carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon along with various non-moving violations.

He was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
