Hart Co. man arrested on three counts of distributing child pornography

Thursday night at approximately 6:40, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested a Hart County man on three counts of distributing child pornography.

Police arrested 38-year-old Stephan W. Self, of Horse Cave, after an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. State police began the investigation after discovering Self sharing files of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Self’s residence where equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.

Self has been charged with three counts of distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor. Each charge is a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.

He was lodged in the Hart County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond.
