Kentucky State Police is reminding motorists that traffic safety checkpoints will be set up throughout the Post 4 area, which includes Grayson, Breckinridge, Hardin, and Meade Counties.

KSP spokesman Scotty Sharp said troopers will set up checkpoints throughout the area in order to check drivers for compliance with motor vehicle laws, including driving under the influence statutes.

Trooper Sharp said the intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide a high visibility, public safety service.

Drivers encountering a checkpoint are asked to have their driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance readily accessible. Trooper Sharp said drivers with this information in hand, and with no violations, can expect to be delayed no more than 30 seconds to a few minutes.
