10-year-old boy drowns in Rolling Fork River

A 10-year-old boy has drowned in Rolling Fork River, near Bardstown.

Nelson County Coroner Field Houghlin identified the victim as a Ryan Dugger, of New Haven. Bardstown Fire Chief Billy Mattingly said the drowning happened just before 5:00 Sunday afternoon.

Dugger had been playing with friends in the lake when, for unknown reasons, he began to struggle. No one was able to get to him before he went under the water.

His body was recovered at about 6:00 Sunday evening.
