Saturday night at approximately 8:00, Grayson County Central Dispatch informed local law enforcement that a high-speed pursuit, which began in Edmonson County, would soon be entering Grayson County on Anneta Road, with the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office and Brownsville Police Department in pursuit.

Grayson County Deputy Fred Norder and Leitchfield Police Department Sgt. Robert Jackson responded to the area, but as local police were en route the pursuit came to an end at Ralph’s Market, in the 10700 block of Anneta Road.

According to police, the vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, being driven by 40-year-old Jenny Sams, of Glasgow, turned around on a roadblock in Edmonson County. Edmonson County authorities gave chase, with speeds reaching 100 mph.

Not long after entering Grayson County, Sams pulled the vehicle into the parking lot of Ralph’s Market, ending the pursuit. Her passenger, 27-year-old Joseph Lindsey, of Glasgow, admitted to police that he encouraged Sams to flee because he had warrants for his arrest.

Sams was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment and reckless driving. Lindsey was charged with two counts of wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, assault, and criminal mischief.

Both were lodged in the Hart County Jail, Sams on a $5,000 bond, Lindsey on a $50,000 cash bond.
