A Letcher County magisterial candidate has been arrested on several charges of child pornography, sexual abuse of a child and retaliating against a witness.

Emory Lee “Fudge” Mullins, 61, of Neon, won the Democratic nomination for magistrate in the 2018 Primary Election. He now faces 11 criminal counts from three separate indictments handed down by the Letcher County Grand Jury on Tuesday.

Kentucky State Police began an investigation into Mullins in late January after a complaint was filed by the parents of an eight-year-old girl, claiming Mullins “had engaged in a long-running pattern of improper sexual contact with their daughter,” according to the Mountain Eagle newspaper.

Last month, Mullins was arrested for trespassing on the family’s property.

Mullins has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse (victim under the age of 12), eight counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (involving eight different young boys). Additionally, he has been charged with two counts of retaliating against a witness.
