Kentucky State Police has arrested a man wanted for murdering his elderly mother through abuse and neglect.

On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 1:50, police located and arrested 52-year-old Larry D. Hensley, of London, at a residence on Village Street in Laurel County. Hensley had been the subject of a six-month long investigation after law enforcement was asked to perform a welfare check on Hensley’s mother, 81-year-old Lue F. Hensley, also of London, in January.

Lue Hensley was located in her residence on Rocky Branch Road in poor physical condition, police said. She was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital where she received treatment, but on March 4 she died as a result of her injuries.

The Laurel County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide due to neglect, resulting in a murder indictment being issued by the Laurel County Grand Jury last week.

Larry Hensley was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center where he’s been charged with murder and knowingly abusing/neglecting an adult. He’s being held on a $100,000 bond.
