Glida Mae Minton, 87, passed away July 15, 2018 under the amazing care of Louisville Hosparus and the Baptist East Palliative Care Unit. She was born in Grayson County on October 13, 1930 to the late Vernon R. Wilson and Maude Raymer. Glida retired from JC Penny, where she worked as a seamstress. She was a founding member of Peace Chapel General Baptist Church, where she served as Secretary and piano player for 50 years. Glida was also an avid bowler.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Byron E. Minton, also of Grayson County.
She is survived by her son Jeff (Michelle) Minton of Palmyra, Indiana; grandchildren, Scott Minton and Jake (Mandy) Minton; and one beloved great-grandchild Byron.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm EST Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Owen Funeral Home on Dixie Highway in Louisville, Kentucky and from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm CDT on Thursday July 19, 2018 at Dermitt Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville, Kentucky. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm CDT Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Union (Rabbit Flat) General Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Rabbit Flat Cemetery, with pastors Rob Hammond and Stephen Prewitt officiating.
