The Leitchfield Freedom Festival and Twin Lakes National Fiddler Championship begin Friday evening at 5:30 with the Rod Run & Cruise-In on the Courthouse Square.

Also Friday night, the Loud Stereo Contest will take place at Veteran’s Memorial Park, and Worship Night GC will be held at the Grayson County Outdoor Amphitheater, as well as other events.

In preparation for the weekend’s festivities, the Town Square and the four streets that run off the square will be closed Friday at 2:00 (the Grayson County Clerk’s Office, located on the square, will close Friday at noon).

In case of rain on Saturday, Twin Lakes National Fiddler Championship organizers said they “have a 24×24 foot stage that is well-covered and will have a covered walk from the courthouse area to the stage, so musicians don’t have to worry about their instruments.” Organizers said the events “can handle a light or intermittent shower,” but if a “massive rain” hits the area, the event’s “fallback venue is the Grayson County Judicial Complex third floor,” located on East White Oak Street, two blocks south of the Town Square.
