Christine Beville Pence, 88, of Leitchfield, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 in Hardinsburg, Kentucky.

She was born April 13, 1930 in Leitchfield, Kentucky to Ambie and Jimmy Beville.  Chris was a graduate of Spalding College and had a long career as a Jefferson County school teacher.  She loved the theater, opera and playing bridge.

Mrs. Pence is survived by her daughter Penny L. Hendrix (Mitchell) of Pensacola, Florida, and sons Richard F. Pence (Alice nee Sherrad) of Big Clifty, Kentucky, Stephen B. Pence (Ruth Ann nee Cox) and Paul B. Pence both of Louisville; nine grandchildren, J. L. Pence, Jennifer Pence, Benjamin Hendrix, Cory Pence, Eileen Hammer, Kay Pence, Peter J. Pence, Joseph Pence and Paige Pence; eight great grandchildren; brothers Damon Beville and Michael Beville and sister Charlene Higdon.

Christine is preceded in death by sons James L. Pence and Peter Pence, daughter Laura Pence, mother Ambie Wells Beville, father James Damon Beville, sisters Nellene Jobe and Sarah Ann Fowler and brother Joseph Beville.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Owen Funeral Home on Dixie Highway in Louisville beginning at 10am  with funeral service to follow at 1pm.  Mrs. Pence will be buried at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
