Ohio Co. law enforcement looking for Beaver Dam man accused of drug, theft crimes

On Tuesday, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of suspicious activity at the old Central Grove School, in McHenry.

Police said upon arrival, several doors were found open on the building. Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said that while inside the facility, drug paraphernalia was located on a table and a stolen 4-wheeler was found hidden behind the building.

Police obtained a search warrant, and during a search of the property, authorities found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a motorcycle with the vehicle identification number (VIN) removed. A vehicle on the premises was discovered to contain marijuana, according to Sheriff Beatty.

Police are now looking for Chester Howard, of Beaver Dam, in relationship to the crimes. Sheriff Beatty said Howard is wanted on charges including, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), obscuring the identity of a machine, receiving stolen property, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of marijuana.

Anyone with information on Howard’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office at 270-298-4444.
