Thursday afternoon at approximately 12:30, the Grayson County Sheriff’s responded to the 500 block of Langley Drive on the report of a stolen vehicle.

Upon Lt. Sonny Poteet arriving at the scene, the victim said that 20-year-old Kyle Richardson, of Big Clifty (who lives next door to the victim), stole his 1994 Chevrolet S-10 truck as it was parked in his driveway.

Police said that about four minutes later, Grayson County Central Dispatch received a call about a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Spurrier and Antioch Church Roads; the vehicle involved in the accident matched the description of the stolen S-10.

As Lt. Poteet neared the area, he came upon a male walking on the side of the road, with the man bleeding from several parts of his body, according to police. The man told Lt. Poteet that his name was Kyle Richardson, and he admitted stealing the S-10 from Langley Road and crashing it moments later.

EMS responded to the scene and transported Richardson to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released into the custody of Lt. Poteet.

Richardson was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking (more than $500, less than $10,000), first-degree criminal mischief and DUI (with aggravating circumstances). He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
