(Leitchfield, KY) – Are you an artist, or just enjoy the pastime of painting, doodling, or drawing?  The Grayson County Library is hosting an artist trading card workshop, hosted by local Clarkson Artist Paula Haynes, in September.

According to Wikipedia, the Artist Trading Card tradition began in 1997 by Swiss Artist M. Vanci Stimemann.  He called it a “collaborative cultural performance.”  The trading cards (ATC) must be 2.5″ x 3.5,” which are the same format as your standard baseball or football trading cards.  These unique works of art have become popular through trading at local libraries, online, and at artist workshops among artists.

Grayson County Public Library will host an Artist Trading Card workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 11th at 6 p.m. as part of their adult program offerings.  The theme for the workshop is Library/Literary/Love.  You will make three cards: one to swap with other libraries, one to display here at the local library, and one to keep.

This program is free and all materials will be supplied, however, space is limited and registration is required.  Call (270) 259-5455 to register; this is an adult program, must be 18 to participate.
