The Grayson County Health Center recently completed its latest round of restaurant/food inspections.
During July, 19 establishments were inspected, with three of those businesses, Mr. Gattis, Center Court Food Mart and American Legion Post 81, scoring perfect 100s. A low score of 90 was posted by the Walmart McDonald’s, with Huddle House also struggling with a score of 91.
The complete restaurant/food inspections:
Grayson Senior Center: Food score 92 – Violations: Expired milk- Immediately corrected, thermometer not conspicuous in cold holding unit, cabinet door needs repair, hand washing sink not draining properly. Follow-up score 96.
Mr. Gatti’s: Food score 100.
Yamato Japanese Steakhouse: Food score 93 – Violations: Bulk containers not properly labeled, hair restraint not in use at time of inspection, walk-in cooler unit not properly maintained, sanitizer reading low, wiping cloth not properly stored in sanitizer between use.
Dairy Queen: Food score 95 – Violations: Bulk food containers not properly labeled, handle needs repair on cooling unit, sanitizer reading low, wiping cloths not properly stored in sanitizer.
Wendy’s: Food score 97 – Violations: Three compartment sink leaking, hand washing sink leaking, floor tile not in good repair by three compartment sink, ceiling tiles need replacing, ceiling vents and filter covers need cleaning.
Huddle House: Food score 91 – Violations: Hair restraints not in use at time of inspection, sanitizer reading low, food/non-food contact surfaces need cleaning, hand washing sink not properly maintained, garbage disposal receptacles not properly covered, ceiling vents and ceiling tiles need repair/replaced.
Subway: Food score 96 – Violations: Ice dispensing utensil not properly stored during use, outer opening not properly protected.
Camp Loucon: Food score 97 – Violations: Food/non-food contact surfaces need cleaning, need proper waste receptacles in restrooms.
Leitchfield Shell: Food score 98, Retail score 96 – Food violations: Thermometer not conspicuous in warm holding unit. Retail violations: expired medication (immediately corrected). Follow-up score 100.
Center Court Food Mart: Food score 100, Retail score 100.
Farmers Feedmill Restaurant: Food score 96 – Violations: Bulk containers not properly labeled, ice scoop not properly stored, cabinet doors need repair, cutting boards need replacing.
Walmart McDonald’s: Food score 90 – Violations: Hair restraint not in use at time of inspection, sanitizer reading low, wiping cloth not stored in sanitizer, food/non-food contact surfaces need cleaning, floor in storage area needs repair, wall needs repair by drink unit in lobby area, premises not free of litter, food container box need to be disposed of properly.
Clearview Giving Hands: Food score 97 – Violations: Bulk containers not properly labeled, thermometers not in cooling units.
Captain D’s: Food score 99 – Violations: Ceiling vents and light covers need cleaning.
Sandy’s: Food score 94 – Violations: Thermometers not conspicuous in cold holding unit, food product not properly covered in cold holding unit, freezing unit needs repair to gasket on door, handwashing sink not properly maintained.
Redneck Ranch: Food score 94 – Violations: Bulk containers not properly labeled, food product not properly covered in cooler unit, vent cover missing in women’s restroom, floor in kitchen area needs repair.
All Saints Camp: Food score 95 – Violations: Bulk containers not properly labeled, food product not properly stored, food/non-food products surfaces need repair, storage cabinets and drawers, walls in kitchen area need repair.
American Legion Post 81: Food score 100.
Walmart: Food score 96, Retail score 100 – Food violations: Non-food contact surfaces need repair/replaced, plumbing not properly maintained at hand washing sink, floor tile needs repair/replaced by walk-in freezer unit, ceiling tile needs to be replaced, light not properly shielded in food prep area.
