Two Leitchfield residents were arrested for assaulting and robbing a man in his own home on Friday night.
Police were looking for the suspects, 29-year-old Michael D. Embry and 27-year-old Megan Mercer, when, at about 10:30, Leitchfield Police Department Detective Kevin Smith was fueling his cruiser at FiveStar Food Mart when he spotted the pair in a vehicle in the parking lot.
LPD Officers Keith Harrell and Joe Overton quickly arrived on scene, as police took the two suspects into custody without incident.
The duo is accused of entering the home of an acquaintance (off Brandenburg Road), where an argument ensued. During the dispute, Embry allegedly struck the victim, stole his wallet, and fled the scene with Mercer.
Embry was charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree assault, with Mercer charged with second-degree robbery. Both are being held in the Grayson County Detention Center.
