Grayson County Schools is introducing the Safe School Helpline this school year as the newest addition to the district’s overall school safety plan.

The anonymous helpline provides students, parents and community members a powerful tool to report situations that may impact the safety of schools, their students and staff. It’s available around the clock to relay concerns about unsafe or potentially disruptive activities or situations, which may include drug or alcohol abuse, weapons, harassment, bullying, threats, crisis or suicide intervention.

All calls are completely confidential.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this to our community as another resource in comprehensive school safety,” Superintendent Doug Robinson said.

The Safe School Helpline can be reached by calling 1-800-4-1-VOICE (800-418-6423), ext. 359. Messages will be transcribed and forwarded to school officials so appropriate action can be taken. A live operator is available for immediate action in a crisis situation — Due to confidentiality, these calls are not sent to schools.

Reporting is also available online at the Safe School Helpline website, texting TIPS to 66746, or in the Safe School Helpline app available in the App Store or Google Play.
