James Althus Higdon, age 85 of Clarkson passed away Monday, August 20th 2018 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was born August 31st 1932 in Clarkson, Kentucky, the son of Dent & Myrtle Hill Higdon. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, a Bronze Star Veteran of the Korean Conflict, an officer & volunteer at the American Legion Post 81 for over 25 years, and a material handler at GE for 39 years.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Jean Pierce Higdon, four sons, James Douglas Higdon (Janie), William Patrick Higdon (Phyllis), David J. Higdon (Renee), & Jonathan Eric Higdon (Tracy), eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one brother, Pete Higdon.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Patrick & Alex Higdon, one great grandchild, Joshua Birch, three brothers, and five sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday August 22nd from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and Thursday August 23rd from 9:00am to 1:30pm at Watson and Hunt Funeral Home.
The funeral mass will be held Thursday at 2:00pm at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarkson. Committal to follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
