Leitchfield Mayor William Thomason becomes first-ever Chamber Commerce Hall of Fame member at annual GC Chamber of Commerce Dinner

The annual Grayson County Chamber of Commerce Dinner was held Thursday night at the Rough River Dam State Resort Park Lodge.

In a filled-to-capacity Grayson and Breckinridge Rooms, yearly awards were handed out to eight honorees.

The Community Service Award was given to Grayson County Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson. The award was presented to Henderson by his long-time friend, Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins.

Winning the Sparkplug Award was Grayson County Tourism Director Anya Turpin. The award was presented by Tourism Commissioner Anthony Miller.

Warren Beeler, Director of Agriculture Policy at the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, was bestowed the Agriculture Award by Wilson & Muir Bank’s Bob Hatfield.

The Small Business Award was given to Ed and Carla Stivers, owners of SNAP Fitness. The award was given to the couple by SNAP Fitness employee, Sharon Edgley.

Dr. Kenneth Green, one of the most renowned physicians in Grayson County, was bestowed the Medical Award by Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center CEO Wayne Meriwether.

Gail Basham, with the Grayson County Detention Center, presented Grayson County Jailer Jason Woosley with the Twin Lakes Award.

Rounding out the awards was Kerry White, of T&T Construction, giving Leitchfield Mayor William Thomason the Special Honor Award, as Thomason became the first-ever entry into the Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame for his over thirty years of service to Leitchfield and Grayson County.
