A Bardstown police officer has been arrested after arriving at a shooting range intoxicated.

The officer, 49-year-old Matthew T. Glass, of Shepherdsville, was in Richmond for police instructor firearms training when he showed up at the shooting range drunk. He was arrested Thursday by Kentucky State Police and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, according to multiple media reports.

Glass resigned the next day.

He is a 22-year veteran of the Louisville Metro Police Department and retired from that agency as a sergeant. He joined the Bardstown PD in February.
